  Vacation in the Heart of the Endless Mountains

When you get tired of relaxing and watching the clouds go by, there are other activities also worth considering. These include casual and fine dining; hiking; swimming; antiquing; a toboggan slide at Eagles Mere; cross-country skiing; and award-winning Knoebels amusement park.

 

The area has several good restaurants. There’s The Old Filling Station in Benton; in addition to traditional fare, it features authentic Thai cuisine. If you are in the mood for fine dining, we recommend Eagles Mere Inn, which is about 30 minutes from us. On summer weekends you can usually find a firehouse breakfast or church supper.

 

Ricketts Glen and Lake Jean are about 20 minutes away. Eagles Mere is a half-hour drive through beautiful countryside. And Knoebels Amusement park is about 1 hour south of us.
